Okay I know I am a day late with this entry, but in my defense, I am a Minah and there is such a thing as Janji Melayu. Not familiar with Janji Melayu? Well, it's that thing that happens with all Minahs and Mats when they set a time to meet: Agree at 4 but everyone arrives at 5 (or 6, or 7, or 11 HAHAHA).

So common a phenomenon, sampaikan dah ada term sendiri.
But I digress.

Spot (verb)
Like in 'spot the difference', spot is a verb - an action word. To spot someone does not merely mean to identify, but also to comment as you identify. Best done in sarcasm too.

For example, you know your Minah friend hates contraband cigarettes, because she's 'classy' and 'loaded' like that. But then one day you guys are lepaking and you catch her smoking a pack of contrabands. You point this out to her sarcastically, saying, "Tak salah aku sikit hari ada orang tu cakap dia tak suka hisap rokok Geylang."

She'll probably reply, "Sial ar kau, takyah nak spot ar, faham faham jer ar, aku tgh kering per."

Spot (noun)
Referring to a place, or position.

Say, your Mat goes fishing and you tag along. He leads you somewhere, where all his friends/fishing buddies already are. If like me, you're the inquisitive Minah, you'd probably ask, "Kenapa pat sini? Camana you tahu kat sini leh dapat ikan? Asal macam dorang semua sengaja leave space ni untuk you eh?"

(Actually kalau by this many questions kau tak kena shush by some other Mat/Pakcik/Apek for being so noisy/kecoh under the pretext that you are scaring the fish away, dah kirakan bagus tuh.)

Your Mat's reply will be simple, "Ni I nyer spot biasa, orang pat sini semua tahu la."

Or let's say you and Mat are driving around and you guys find a nice dark carpark, so lonely and deserted, great to park the car for a quick romp [insert choice of fun activity to do in the dark here], you could say (or your Mat would probably beat you to this), "Eh, spot baik per! Jom ar B, lek kat sini skejap."

Same goes to describing a position your friend has been in for a while. Like when you guys jalan Raya and someone seems to be unable to move from a corner because it's probably so comfortable and he/she is making everyone pass the kuihs and drinks to him/her. "Oi, spot baik sangat sampai kau dah besarkan bontot pat sana takleh amek sendiri ke?"

Ok this is random, tapi aku nak tahu, siapa still say Control Station and Farecard? Itu hari siapa entah gi spot aku, pasal now it's Passenger Service Centre (or something) and ez-link respectively.
